Navigating after darkness falls can seem daunting, but we can show you that you can safely find your way across the hills. This course is for people with previous navigation experience, who want to learn the techniques of Night Navigation to help develop their skills.
Knowing where you are at all times is paramount to safety when walking in reduced visibility. With landmarks difficult or impossible to see, the focus is on micro-navigation, good compass work and pacing. The skills you will learn on our Night Navigation Course also transfer across to navigating in mist and poor visibility.
One of our qualified and experienced Mountain Leaders will show you a variety of techniques and skills, and you will have plenty of opportunity to practise your skills. We will email or post information sheets to you after the course, so you don't even need to take notes!
